Welcome to Jordans Charities Act website. The Charities Act 2006 marks the dawning of a new age of charity law and regulation in England and Wales. The Act makes the most significant changes in this part of English law for perhaps four hundred years. Implementation began from February 2007 and should be completed in 2009/2010.

Jordans is committed to supporting all its clients throughout this prolonged period of change and adjustment. In the features that follow we offer you some valuable tools to help you adapt to the changes – we’re in this with you and we'll keep you informed!

The Charity Commission has published its guidance on public benefit and there is a new list of charitable purposes.

Jordans has launched a new Healthcheck service to help charities identify the changes they need to make to benefit from the new rules.
